Interning at Corkia

Interns Hannah and Zoran discuss their journey at Corkia, a wine trading company based in Portugal 🍷📍🇵🇹

Hannah has joined Corkia through Capacity Ireland on a 90 day placement, and Zoran through extending her stay in Lisbon from the Summer.

Interning at Corkia involves many different roles and responsibilities. These include creating and editing videos and reels to promote the Instagram and other social media pages, managing shootings and digital marketing management for the whole brand.

Whilst interviewing Hannah and Zoran, we discussed the importance in content creation roles about keeping as close as possible to the brand image when creating social media content. Zoran and Hannah discussed that, when planning and creating content for the social media pages, it’s important to keep to Corkia’s brand image.

As well as those previously described, other roles that Hannah and Zoran take part in include Facebook and Instagram posts, reels, setting up wine tastings, researching and contacting influencers in Lisbon to help with promotions and planning for the Christmas market and how to prepare the stall to draw in customers such as how to decorate the boxes on the table. 🎄🍷

Zoran said that some of her favourite roles include taking photos at wine tastings and going to events.

Hannah said that one of her favourite roles includes making graphics for Gimmegrapes, which is a new extension company of Corkia. In our interview, we discussed the importance of how social media can be used to demonstrate the different styles and audiences of a company. For example, the social media pages of Gimmegrapes have images and videos of young people having fun. Whereas, Corkia’s posts showcase more the elegance and sophistication of the brand.

As well as discussing their favourite things about their internship, we also discussed the interns’ favourite things about living in Lisbon.

Hannah says:

🗣’Some of my favourite things about living in Lisbon include being in a busy city, the culture and the food.’

Zoran:

🗣’In Lisbon, there’s always something going on, I can always go out and do something nice. The weather is also really good!’
